Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Hardware Team Leader with 5–7 years of hands-on experience in hardware design and development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of hardware engineers and managing the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of embedded and power electronics hardware. This role demands strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Define hardware architecture, schematic design, component selection, and perform PCB layout reviews.
Guide junior engineers in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design.
Review and approve schematics, PCB layouts, and documentation to meet design standards and project goals.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in performance and hardware design.
Project & People Management
Lead and mentor a team of 3–8 hardware engineers; assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure on-time delivery.
Work with Project Managers and Product Owners to define hardware specs, schedules, and milestones.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Mechanical, Firmware, QA, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
Support hiring, resource planning, and team performance evaluations.
Product Development Lifecycle
Lead hardware development through concept, prototyping, validation, certification, and production support.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for sourcing, cost optimization, and technical support.
Oversee testing activities such as EMI/EMC, thermal, functional, and reliability testing.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production and field issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5–7 years of experience in embedded hardware design and product development.
Strong expertise in analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, SMPS, DC-DC, AC-DC, or Battery Management Systems.
Experience with high-speed signal design, EMI/EMC compliance, thermal design, and DFM/DFT principles.
Proficiency with EDA tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or KiCAD.
Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
Knowledge of hardware compliance standards: IEC, EN, ISO, UL, CE, ROHS.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred / Optional Skills
Experience in EV chargers, automotive electronics, TCMS, or industrial automation.
Knowledge of safety standards like SIL, ASIL, or functional safety design.
Familiarity with PLM tools and version control systems such as Git or SVN.
Hands-on lab experience in testing, validation, and debugging of complex hardware boards.
